This project came about after the first time I heard this song performed live. I walked up the lead singer and pleaded for the chance to make this music video. Even after moving out of state, I flew back to Detroit, Michigan and we made it happen.
Filmed in dead of December, the cold and gloomy weather only added to this take on confronting your past. While exploring Detroit and chronicling the the story was a breeze, the biggest challenge was filming and designing the performance section. It was important to contrast the warmth of the stage to the cold of the story sections. The solution... use the construction lights we found at the warehouse on the floor as a practical light source. All in all, this project turned out even better than I could have hoped for with the limited resources we had, and you'll be happy to know I am still not sick of the song.
